On April 26th, the 18th World Intellectual Property Day, National Copyright Administration (NCAC) held 2018 National Conference on Copyright Protection in Digital Environment in Beijing. Representatives from administrative agencies, judicial system, copyright industry, academic community, and law practitioners attended the conference. Under the theme of Protecting Creation and Promoting Utilization, the attendees discussed extensively on creation, protection and utilization of online copyright.

Yan Xiaohong Vice Chairman of Cultural, Historical Records and Study Committee of the 13th National Committee of the CPPCC and Chairman of Copyright Society of China (CSC), attended and addressed the conference.

Chen Hongbing, Director of WIPO China Office, read the congratulatory letter from Wang Binying, WIPO Deputy Director General.

Yu Cike, Director General of Copyright Department of NCAC, delivered the keynote speech at the conference.

Liu Duo, President of China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, announced the Annual Report 2017 of Copyright Protection in Digital Environment of China.

Memorandum on Cooperation in Copyright Protection in Digital Environment signed between the Copyright Department of NCAC, the Monitoring Centre of CSC, and MIGU Co., Ltd.

Relevant themes were also discussed including new technology transformation and innovation in copyright in digital environment, copyright protection and norms for short videos and animations and “Her Power” for copyright in digital environment in new era.
