On February 5, China handed the ratification paper of Marrakesh Treaty to Facilitate Access to Published Works for Persons Who Are Blind, Visually Impaired, or Otherwise Print Disabled ( The Marrakesh Treaty ) to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), which will officially enter into force for China on May 5. China’s ratification of the Marrakesh Treaty is another milestone for China’s copyright development. It is also a new starting point for copyright to facilitate the universal access to cultural achievements and enrich the spiritual and cultural life of persons with print disabilities. China will, as always, strive to improve the wellbeing of the disabled, promote common prosperity, strengthen international exchanges and cooperation, and build a community with a shared future for mankind. Taking the treaty’s entry into force with respect to China as a chance, China will improve its copyright protection system and effectively safeguard by copyright means the rights and interests of persons with print disabilities.
